Coffee Cup Stirling Engine: Taking Parts Inventory
I don't have a method to tell you how to do this, other than be careful.
If you must dump all the parts out to count them, do it on something like
a bowl or a cookie sheet so you don't loose any. The best idea is
to do the inventory with the parts still in the bag.
The reducers that go on the ends of the crankshaft changed in mid 2001. Make sure you go through the entire inventory list before assuming that you are missing a reducer.
The Crankcase Group

Large Brass Washer [P3] (only one in the kit: the right side shows the
side with the protective paper on it)
Brass Nuts (4) [P4] (same as [S11])
If your kit was manufactured after June 2001, you will only have five brass nuts.
The Crankshaft Group
Crankshaft [S1]
Upper Displacer Rod [S2] (shorter) and Upper Displacer Rod Bearing [S3]
Piston Rod [S4] (longer) and Piston Rod Bearing [S5]
Connector (black rubber tubing) [S6]
Short Brass Tube [S7] (Same as [C5])
Long Reducer (threaded brass sleeve0.45", 11 mm long) [S8]
Short Reducer (threaded brass sleeve 0.165", 4 mm long) [S9]
If your kit was manufactured before June 2001 you will have the reducers shown above. If it was made after June 2001 you will have the plastic bag shown below that contains a hex wrench, two tiny set screws, and a short and a long brass reducer.
